♥ let's hit the coop ♥

good morning.
i will be sharing Easter projects and ideas on the blog all week in the celebration and preparation of our Easter celebration.  yesterday, i shared Easter basket tags and goodie bags that we will be giving to hubby's staff this year in this post

today, i am sharing a card with you that was born from the negatives of the Easter basket tags below

when i peeled off the Easter basket cut from my Silhouette Cameo Cutting Mat
this is what i saw

(please excuse my paper-riddled mat, i cut out 50 baskets and it has since been bathed....giggle)

the paper below the mat is the pp i removed the baskets from, ON TOP of the mat is what was left after i removed the basket cuts.  and that's when i saw it.  a perfect Easter egg.  being the scrap user that i am, i KNEW that would not be thrown away....giggle.  hence, the birth of the idea for today's card.

(these would make PERFECT little Easter tags or place card settings too)

let's hit the coop card

i love this sticker sentiment from Jillibean Soup Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup line and new i wanted some baby chicks "breaking out of the egg" to hit the coop.

the cute little heart sticker is also from the Jillibean Soup Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup line and the rest of the card was created using the April My Scrapbook Nook kit packed with gorgeous Crate Paper Story Teller line

tomorrow, i hope to be sharing my Easter Bunny Garland with you.  I like to create decorations for Easter and while i love lots of details in my work, decorations have to be able to be replicated quickly with relative ease, so i hope it'll inspire you to create one for your home this year using supplies you have on-hand.
thank you so much for all your sweet notes, they always, always {hug} my heart.

so much love to you♥

and there's an amazing deal right now that you don't want to miss.

After a year paid subscription your 13th kit will be for FREE!
  (90.00 Value for FREE!)

today, i wanted to share some Easter basket tags and goodie bags i created for hubby's staff using the newest kit.
i created the Easter Baskets using this Silhouette Cameo Easter Basket Cut File and
this baby chicks running cut file.  i die-cut the eggs in my Cuttlebug using my  Papertrey Ink egg die.
happy easter goodie bags and tags

i tied the cadbury eggs to the easter basket tag using twine

to create the "flag-tag" i printed the sentiment on my computer and die-cut them using my Papertrey Ink double-ended banner die.   after cutting the banners, i folded them in half and stitched them close so they can slide up and down the handle of the basket.

my chicks were cut using my Cameo with this cut file: easter chicks

for those that do not have a cameo there are some fun templates that could easily create some fun pp chicks

♥ stamping with pretty peonies ♥

you have until TONIGHT, Wed. March 28th, by MIDNIGHT PST, to leave comments for the My Scrapbook Nook Spring DT Hop.
(there are over $200 in prizes, so if you haven't hopped yet, you don't want to miss this one!)

i am back with another series of cards created with ONE stamp set.

this week, i will be featuring cards stamped with PTI Pretty Peonies.    This set is the Papertrey Ink 2012 anniversary set, but unlike in the past, where you were not able to purchase the anniversary sets, changes to their customer rewards allow you to use points to purchase ANY PTI sets.  I found this set particularly beautiful, gorgeous peonies, beautiful sentiments and oh that butterfly.

isn't it pretty? :)

happy birthday to you card

i stamped the solid peonies onto PTI Stamper's Select cardstock using PTI Berry Sorbet dye ink, cut them out and popped them up with 3-D mounting tape

everything is going to be okay card

to create this card, i stamped the solid peony onto PTI kraft cardstock using kraft ink.  i then stamped the peony outline onto the top of a couple of the solid peonies using Versamark watermark stamp pad, and heat embossed them using white opaque powder from Stampendous

hello my dear friend card

banners have been all the rage, and i love stamping the peonies on a large banner to be the focal on this card.  i masked the smaller peony on the sentiment tag to create the tag pattern.

the next card was inspired by the sketch below.  isn't that cuuuute?
( i have more ideas for this sketch but wanted to play with the stamps on these flags.)

happy birthday to you card

(i didn't want to add a lot of bulk to the card so i chose to stitch the flags to the pp)

and how about a quick, belly band, anniversary card?
 happy anniversary card

i hope if you have this set, i've inspired you to get it inky and have fun.

thank you all for all of your very sweet comments, taking time to visit me and your friendship.
hugs.

'ello monday

if you are here for the SPRING NOOK DT HOP March 23-28th, please scroll down to DT HOP post to start the DT hop and leave comments for your chance to win $200 in prizes.

good morning everyone. today over at the 'Nook, in the CARDS FORUM,
we have posted a new monday challenge. we hope you'll stop by to see the challenge inspiration, dt cards, challenge deets/prize and post YOUR cards for the challenge.

here are the cards i created for the new challenge

(cards created using the new APRIL 'Nook Kit filled with gorgeous Crate Paper Story teller)

'brand new' card

(that's what i think of when i think of 'spring' and am putting all kinds of cute bunnies and birdies inside on the sentiment mat)

(pop over to the CARDS FORUM to see the inspiration room. for my card, i was inspired by the squares, flowers and the pop of red that catches your eye in the flower)

see the white flower buttons?

i used the "negative" from die-cutting those button flowers to create the card in this post
so don't throw away those negatives, they can really create fun new cards

happy 13th birthday card

and a more liberal interpretation created with APRIL GRAB BAG KIT filled with Crate Paper Pretty Party....sigh, love.

(this card was inspired by squares and pattern on pattern and that gorgeous flower)

i love the mini clothespins that come in the APRIL kit and sentiment stickers in the APRIL grab bag, so fun

we hope you'll come visit and see the room inspiration these cards were inspired from and the dt inspiration.

happy creating♥

♥ let's tell stories ♥

if you are here for the Nook DT HOP, please scroll down to previous post to leave comments and your chance to win $200 in prizes.

i decided to go ahead and update the blog with a card i created using the new APRIL 'NOOK KIT. the newest kit is filled with the gorgeous Crate Paper Story Teller and just when i think i've worked with my favorite kit, leah designs a whole new love for me. i absolutely LOVED march's kit, as you know, and will continue to create with what i have left, but this is stealing chunks of my heart quickly. i don't know if it's the fresh, springy feel to the oranges, greens, blues, reds and pinks, or if i am just longing for spring so much, i am seeing the spring in everything i touch. it is a travel line for those of you who have lots of fun layout ideas, but the cards are floating in my mind and i am excited to share with you all the ideas this month. this is NOT just a travel line, i haven't created one travel-themed card yet and i've created SEVEN cards already (i can only share one today, but will have more soon)
